Mississippi RiverKings News Release

Louis Dumont scored with 8:13 remaining to give the Mississippi RiverKings a 2-1 win over the Tulsa Oilers tonight at the Tulsa Convention Center.

Dumont's 13th goal of the year gives the RiverKings (32-20-2) a chance to vault past the Texas Brahmas and the Youngstown SteelHounds in the Northern Conference playoff picture. A win tomorrow puts them into fourth position and gives them control of their own postseason destiny.

Ryan Campbell received credit for his 26th goal of the season 11:51 into the game. The RiverKings dumped the puck into the Oilers' zone while on a power play, and Oilers goalie Jeff Van Nynatten played the puck right into Campbell's body and into an empty net. The Oilers (21-31-3) answered with a power play goal of their own in the second period. Warren McCutcheon scored his 30th of the year at 7:28 to make it a 1-1 hockey game.

Sebastien Centomo made 23 saves for the RiverKings. Van Nynatten made 33 stops for the Oilers.

Centomo gave fellow goalie Ian Keserich a night off for the first time since Jan. 24. Keserich had played in 16 consecutive games, backstopping the RiverKings to a 9-6-1 record over that stretch. Centomo last appeared on Feb. 9, but left that game due to injury. He initially hurt himself on Jan. 12 and missed the 2008 CHL All-Star Game the following week.

The RiverKings visit the Wichita Thunder tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. The pre-game show begins at 6:55 p.m. on Sports 56 WHBQ. The Internet audience can listen live by surfing to www.sports56whbq.com.
