Robertson Named CHL Player Of The Month

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Scorpions forward Chris Robertson has been named the February Sher-wood CHL Player of the Month. It is the first time this season a New Mexico player has garnered the monthly honor.

Robertson was tied for the league lead with 27 points over the past month. His teammate, Konrad Reeder, also had 27 points.

Over 13 games in February, Robertson scored a league best 16 goals and added 11 assists. The Owen Sound, Ontario native also posted a +17 plus/minus rating, leading the Scorpions in that category.

Overall, the Scorpions assistant captain has appeared in 49 games and scored a career high 29 goals. The center has amassed 59 points during the 2007-08 season, six off his career best.

The Scorpions finish their three-game home stand tonight against Odessa. Be in the Santa Ana Star Center for the puck drop at 7:15 p.m. It is another "2-for-Tuesday" with ticket specials at the box office.

New Mexico is one win away from officially clinching a playoff spot in the Southern Conference. They head into play tonight only four points behind Odessa in the battle for first place in the Southwest Division.
