Riverhawks can't solve Ripknees

Davenport - The Quad Cities Riverhawks ABA professional basketball team lost their second home game to the same team, The Minnesota Ripknees 108-98. The Ripknees have improved to 3-2 and the Riverhawks are now 2-2.

The two teams traded baskets for the majority of the first half. A dunk by Danny Osby midway through the second quarter put the Riverhawks on top 32-31. At halftime the Riverhawks led 52 - 48 behind Osby's 14, and the Ripknees' were led by Jamel Staten with 13 points.

The Riverhawks could not hold the lead in the second half. The Ripknees took the lead in the fourth quarter with solid outside shooting and held on to take the victory. A deep three pointer, from Staten, with just minutes left to play sealed the Ripknees 108-98 victory. Lonnie Randolph led the Riverhawks with 24 points and Staten lead the Ripknees with 32 points.

The Riverhawks next home game is November 25th as they take on the Hammond Rollers on at 7:05 p.m. at Marycrest College Activity Center.
