November 18, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Anderson Champions News Release
The Anderson Champions earned their first victory over a very tough Chicago Rockstar team 128-106. Chicago took a 10 point lead to the locker room after playing a very physical first half, out-rebounding the home Champions 30-15. Anderson responded by rattling off 10 unanswered points to begin the third period. "The second half, we had guys getting physical, stepping up and executing", summarized Champions' coach Ray Tolbert. "Chicago is a very disciplined and conditioned team and we had to be disciplined and set up according to our conditioning level."
Antiony Hardin once again led the Champions with 31 points in a balanced attack with 5 players in double figures. Phillip Watson led the Rockstars with 22 points.
The Champions (1-2) return to the Wigwam tomorrow with a 5:05 game vs. The Peoria Kings. Half- time entertainment with feature the Indiana Pacers Powerpack aerial acrobatic team.
