Texas Tycoons News Release

Dallas, TX - The Texas Tycoons were back at action playing the third game of a four game back to back homestand in Dallas, Texas. The opponent on the evening was the only team to have defeated the Tycoons this season; The Monterrey Veneno-Poison. That two point victory for the Veneno on Texas's opening night had the Tycoons ready to exact revenge. Monterrey came into the game 3-2 on the season while the Tycoons were looking to continue their four game winning streak and improve upon their 4-1 record.

With their hold of first place on the line, the Tycoons got off to a quick start beginning the game on a 24-7 run but the Veneno led by head coach Emile Shepherd fought back with Cliff White (6'2''-G-80, college: Cascade) getting several key baskets and helping his teammates get open looks en route to a 22 point and 6 assist performance. Andre Hardwick (6'7''-F/C-83, college: Cal.St.-Bakersfield) was strong inside for 23 points and 15 rebounds while teammate James Moore (6'8''-C-82, agency: Duran International, college: N.Mexico St.) had 20 points and 7 rebounds.

For the Tycoons, a strong start followed by a 40, 34, and 41 point performance in the second through fourth quarters was helped by another terrific night behind the arc for head coach Chris Terrell . 7 players finished in double figures with Josh Gonner (6'2''-G-82, college: S.Carolina) and Brandon Lee (6'3''-G, college: Tarleton St.)putting up 28 points each, Lee also dishing out 7 assists on the night. After 6 games, the Tycoons are shooting over 52% as a team from the three point line, connecting on another blazing rate tonight with 24 of 47 as a team.
