Tycoons' Tidbits

February 18, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Texas Tycoons News Release

The Texas Tycoons would like to congratulate head coach Jean-Paul Afif. Afif has been selected to coach the ABA Western conference squad during ABA All Star weekend.

Hosted by the Vermont Frost Heaves and Manchester Millrats, this two day event will take place March 21st and 22nd in Barre, Vermont. Vermont and Manchester are two of the top franchises in minor league basketball. Both are to be commended for bringing this event to life.

The Tycoons, currently ranked #3 in the latest edition of the ABA power rankings, are no strangers to ABA All-Star weekend. Former Michigan Fab 5 star, Jimmy King, represented the Tycoons as an ABA All-Star in 2005. Last year in Halifax, it was the Tycoons' Donnie Beacham that soared his way to the ABA Slam Dunk title.

2/17/08

The Texas Tycoons defeated the Texas Wranglers of the UBL by the score of 117-98. With the win, the Tycoons advanced to 17-1 on the season.
