LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have activated pitcher Tony Marsala and released pitcher Ryan Smith.
Marsala has not pitched since June 5 because of a rotator-cuff strain. He is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in three appearances this year.
Smith, a rookie, had no record and a 2.46 ERA in three appearances.
