RiverDogs open four-game homestand Friday

The Richmond RiverDogs are now 5-4-1 after going 1-2 last week. The 'Dogs are in a third place tie with Adirondack in the Eastern Division, one point behind second place Danbury. The 'Dogs play four straight games at home starting Friday vs. Motor City.

Friday, November 12 vs. Motor City 7:35 PM

GAME NOTES: The first of six meetings and the first of two in Richmond. First ever meeting with the expansion Mechanics. 'Dogs are 1-0-1 vs. Central Division clubs. Motor City's first game vs. an Eastern Division opponent. Mechanics are led by Blair Manning with 10 points in 10 games.

Saturday, November 13 vs. Danbury 7:35 PM

GAME NOTES: The third of 17 meetings and the first of nine here. 'Dogs are 1-1 vs. the Trashers. Five 'Dogs have two points vs. Danbury. Four Trashers have two points vs. Richmond. The clubs have combined for three shorthanded goals but just one power play goal in two games.

Wednesday, November 3 vs. Elmira LOSS 4-2

GAME NOTES: The 'Dogs twice rallied from two goal deficits but could not overcome three power play goals against. Greg Koehler scored twice for Elmira. Ryan Prentice and Jonathan Gagnon had Richmond's goals. The Jackals Trevor Burgess had four assists. The 'Dogs out-shot the Jackals 33-22.

Friday, November 5 @ Adirondack LOSS 2-1

GAME NOTES: The Frostbite earned their fourth win in five games. Hugo Belanger scored both Frostbite goals. Adirondack out-shot Richmond 14-3 in the second period and held the 'Dogs to just 20 shots for the game. Francis Belanger scored the 'Dogs goal.

Saturday, November 6 @ Adirondack WIN 4-3 (SO)

GAME NOTES: The 'Dogs bounced back with a shootout win. The Frostbite grabbed three different leads in the first two periods and three times the 'Dogs rallied to tie the game. Jonathan Gagnon had a goal and assist and scored the game-winner in the shootout. Ryan McIntosh made 30 saves.

DOG BITES: The RiverDogs traded D Bryan Cummings to Elmira for future considerations. Richmond waived D Frank Burgio and waived the rights to Ojay Hehr. the 'Dogs open a four game homestand Friday. The RiverDogs earned their first shootout win of the year Saturday in Adirondack. Richmond went 4-4 in an eight game stretch against Eastern Division opponents. Richmond has allowed power play goals in five straight games. The 'Dogs have fired 30 or more shots on goal in seven of their 10 games. All three times the 'Dogs have been held below 30 came against Adirondack. Richmond is 0 for their last 22 on the power play. Francis Belanger has points in five straight games. Jonathan Gagnon and David Brosseau had three game scoring streaks end Friday. Ryan McIntosh has won all three of his starts. The 'Dogs had a season low six PIM Saturday in Adirondack and the 'Dogs and Frostbite combined for a 'Dogs season low 10 PIM. Anthony DiPalma came out of retirement to join the 'Dogs Wednesday. Francis Belanger is tied for 10th in the league in scoring. Ryan McIntosh is six in the UHL in goals against average. David Brosseau is tied for second in the league in shots on goal. Trevor Senn missed Saturday's game due to a UHL suspension.
