Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Charleston RiverDogs were shut out by the Augusta GreenJackets 3-0, despite six-strong innings from Luis Cedeño, Tuesday night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The loss was the first in three games for the RiverDogs.
Cedeño pitched four scoreless innings for the RiverDogs (25-27) but ran into trouble in the fifth. Will Callaway and Jared Deacon hit back-to-back one-out singles, which put two on for Andrew Cain. He stepped in and smacked a three-run blast that cleared the fence down the left field line and put Augusta (25-26) in front 3-0, which rendered the crowd of 2,455 in attendance silent.
The RiverDogs had a chance to respond in the bottom of the inning. Isaias Tejeda led off the inning with the first of his two doubles and advanced to third on a pop up to the pitcher Samuel Coonrod. After a Ryan Lindemuth strikeout, Devyn Bolasky was hit by a pitch and Jorge Mateo walked. The bases were loaded for Connor Spencer, but he flied out to the left fielder Callaway in foul territory to end the inning.
Charleston had plenty of opportunities to get on the board, but they left 10 runners on base and went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position in Tuesday night's game.
The Charleston offense was not able to score a run against Coonrod (2-1) who picked up his second win of the season. Cedeño (3-5) lost his fifth consecutive game after winning his first three starts with the RiverDogs. Reyes Moronta earned his fourth save of the season as he retired the R'Dogs in order in the bottom of the ninth.

BALLPARK FUN: The RiverDogs honored the Wando High School baseball team who won the 4A South Carolina State Championship last month. Fun activities like a "brodeo", a pushup contest, and a bro hug camera on the scoreboard highlighted the "Ode to Bros" evening at The Joe.
