Richmond RiverDogs News Release
The Richmond RiverDogs are now 13-13-2 after going 1-3 last week. The âDogs are fourth in the Eastern Division, one point behind Elmira. The 'Dogs wrap up a seven game road trip this week before returning to The Pound for the first time in over two weeks. Merry Christmas!

GAME NOTES: The eighth of 17 meetings and the fifth of nine in Elmira. Richmond is 4-3 vs. the Jackals, 2-2 in Elmira. Mark Turner and David Hymovitz have seven points vs. the Jackals. Greg Koehler has 14 vs. the âDogs. The Jackals are 12-40 (30%) on the power play vs. Richmond.
Thursday, December 23 vs. Elmira 7:35 PM
GAME NOTES: The ninth of 17 meetings and the fourth of eight in Richmond. âThe âDogs are 2-1 vs. the Jackals at home. The âDogs first home game following a seven game two week road trip. Richmond has won four of their last five home games, including three straight vs. the Jackals.
Sunday, December 26 vs. Adirondack 3:05 PM
GAME NOTES: The eighth of 17 meetings and the third of nine vs. the Frostbite at The Pound. The âDogs are 4-3 vs. the Frostbite, 1-1 at home. Mark Turner has nine points vs. the Frostbite; Justin Kelly has 10 vs. the âDogs. The Frostbite has held Richmond to under 30 shots in all seven meetings.

Wednesday, December 15 @ Kalamazoo WIN 4-3 (SO)
GAME NOTES: The âDogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a pair of first period goals by Trevor Senn. The âDogs led 3-1 in the third when the Wings Yannick Carpentier scored twice to force a shootout. In the overtime Ryan Prentice and J.J. Wrobel scored for the âDogs. Jeff Sanger stopped all four Wings.
Friday, December 17 @ Ft. Wayne LOSS 9-4
GAME NOTES: The Komets had a monster night from a line of Sean Venedam, Colin Chaulk, and Jonathan Goodwin who led the way in a lopsided win. Venedam scored four goals, Goodwin had three goals and two assists, and Chaulk had five assists. Francis Belanger scored twice for the âDogs.
Saturday, December 18 @ Kalamazoo LOSS 5-2
GAME NOTES: The Wings rallied from a 2-0 deficit and blew the game open with three third period goals. Tyler Willis scored twice for the Wings. Mike Manley had a goal and two assists. The Wings out-shot the âDogs, who were short-benched, 52-25, including 23-6 in the second period.
Sunday, December 19 @ Port Huron LOSS 6-3
GAME NOTES: The Beacons Andrew McPherson had a hat trick as Port Huron broke a close game open with a pair of third period goals. Joe Sewell had two goals and two assists and Aaron Brand had three assists for the Beacons. The âDogs out-shot the Beacons 18-9 in the third period.
DOG BITES: The 'Dogs are 2-3-1 six games into a seven game road trip. Richmond has lost three straight, equaling a season high. The 'Dogs are now 4-1-2 vs. Central Division opponents. Richmond ended a streak of 11 straight games in which they had been held to under 30 shots on goal with a 33 shot effort Sunday at Port Huron. Ryan Prentice has points in six straight games. The 'Dogs have allowed 20 goals in their last three games. Richmond has been out-scored by 15 in the second period this season. The 'Dogs allowed a club record 52 shots on goal Saturday at Kalamazoo. The 'Dogs are 2 for their last 21 on the power play. The nine goals against at Ft. Wayne Friday equals a club record for the second time this season. David Hymovitz is tied for 11th in the league in scoring. Trevor Senn leads the UHL in penalty minutes and is tied for second in majors. Ryan Prentice leads the league in shooting percentage. Kyle Sheen is second amongst UHL rookies in penalty minutes. Sheen and Mark Langdon are tied for the league lead in game winning goals by a rookie.
