WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. â The Sacramento River Cats (14-13) won their second straight game on Wednesday with a 7-3 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies (10-17) at Raley Field.
RHP Joe Blanton (3-1) earned the win, allowing just 3 ER on 7 H in 7.1 IP. RF Matt Watson led the Cats' offense three hits, and DH Dan Johnson hit his team-leading eighth home run. 3B Mike Edwards extending his hitting streak to 17 games with a third-inning single. He could tie the River Cats record of 18 consecutive games (Adam Piatt in 2000, Esteban German in 2003) with a hit tomorrow.
Sacramento and Fresno will play the final game of their four-game series on Thursday (7:05 pm) at Raley Field.
