River Cats Announce Tribute to 1989 World Series Champion Oakland A's

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Bay Bridge World Series, the Sacramento River Cats have announced that they will hold a tribute to the 1989 World Series champion Oakland Athletics on Saturday, August 29th at Raley Field. The event will take place as the River Cats appropriately take on the San Francisco Giants affiliate Fresno Grizzlies (7:05 p.m. game, 6:00 p.m. gates). '89 World Series MVP Dave Stewart, Dave "Hendu" Henderson and Tony Phillips will be on hand, along with the official 1989 World Series Trophy.

The event will feature a pre-game ceremony honoring the team's accomplishments and an autograph session with Stewart and photo op with the World Series Trophy (7:00 - 8:00 on the Raley Field concourse). Stewart, Henderson and Phillips will all sign official replica A's jerseys that will be auctioned off on the night of the event with proceeds going to the River Cats Foundation.
