
Riva Assigned To The Reading Royals

Manchester, NH - The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) have assigned center Dan Riva to the Reading Royals (ECHL). Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough made the announcement on Monday. Riva, a 6-foot-0, 195-pound native of Framingham, MA, was recalled by the Monarchs on Tuesday, November 5. In nine games with the Monarchs, he totaled one goal, two penalty minutes and a minus-2 plus/minus rating.
Riva, 27, spent parts of the 2001-02 season with both the Monarchs and the Royals. In 29 games with the Monarchs, he registered four goals, one assist and five points. In 37 games with the Royals, he notched 10 goals, 17 assists and 27 points. Riva, a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1995-98), began his professional career with the Milwaukee Admirals, appearing in 150 games over three seasons. He collected 20 goals, 23 assists and 43 points during his tenure with the Admirals.
The first place Monarchs (15-5-3-2, 35 points, North Division) return to action Wednesday when they meet the Manitoba Moose in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the first time ever. Wednesday's game is scheduled for an 8:35 p.m. start time. Ken Cail will broadcast the game on the Monarchs Radio Network (610 WGIR, 930 WGIN, 1540 WGIP, and 1400 WTSL) and on the World Wide Web at monarchshockey.com.
