The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Andre Rienzo has been promoted from Class-A Winston-Salem to the Barons. Roster at 25.
Signed as a free agent out of Brazil in 2006, Rienzo is in his sixth season in the White Sox organization posting a career record of 25-17 with a 3.37 ERA. In four starts with the Dash this season, Rienzo was 3-0 with a 1.08 ERA (3 ER/25.0 IP) with 31 strikeouts and just 7 walks. Rienzo was suspended for 50 games on April 26th for violating Minor League Baseball's performance enhancing drugs policy.
