JACKSON, TENN. - The Generals won their third straight Thursday night, and second straight over Chattanooga, 2-1, in front of 3,226 fans at Pringles Park. The first-half Champion Generals (41-26) are now 15-games above.500 for the first time this season.

Steve Garrison (4-3) won Thursday and tossed a season-high 7.0 innings, striking out a season-high five batters. Garrison allowed one run on seven hits in the outing and snapped a two-game losing skid on the mound.

The Generals scored in the first on back-to-back doubles from Chris Pettit and Nick Franklin. Franklin's RBI double put Jackson up 1-0.

Chattanooga's Luis Nunez belted a solo homer in the top of the third inning to tie the game at 1-1, but the tie game did not last long.

In the bottom of the fifth, Joe Dunigan smashed a solo home run that cleared the right-center field score board. Dunigan's team-leading 11th blast of the year gave Jackson the eventual final score of 2-1.

After a scoreless inning by Mauricio Robles, Carter Capps struck out three in the ninth and saved his eighth game of the season.

The Generals won despite being out-hit by the Lookouts 7-6 and only one Jackson player recording a multi-hit game. Chih-Hsien Chiang was 2-for-4 to lead the way. Denny Almonte was 0-for-4, snapping his 11-game hitting streak.
