Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS (JUNE 10, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will host the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation on Thursday, June 11 when the team plays the San Antonio Missions at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The team will honor widows and family members of DFW-area officers who passed in the line of duty since 2000.
An honorary ceremony, video tribute and special "Taps" performance will recognize each fallen officer prior to the 7:05 p.m. start. A customary helicopter flyover will follow the National Anthem. The event will mark the first time in which every police agency in DFW will have a present representative at this type of event.
Joanne Jackson, widow of Dallas Police Officer Brian Jackson, will throw out the first pitch. Jackson, a five-year police force veteran, was killed in the line of duty at age 28.
All honorees with the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation will have an opportunity to meet with players and coaches before the contest.
A portion of Thursday's ticket sales will benefit the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation. Over $1,400 has already been raised to support the foundation's cause. To purchase tickets for Thursday's game in support of the foundation visit the dedicated Ticketmaster page, contact Frisco RoughRiders Group Sales Executive Jonathan Fletcher at JFletcher@RidersBaseball.com or call (972) 731-9200.
