San Antonio Missions News Release
FRISCO--The Missions ran their season-high winning streak to six games and won for the fourth time in five tries at Frisco Tuesday night in front of 4,368 at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.
Starting pitcher Elliot Morris entered the night 0-3, 7.36 ERA over his five previous outings, but the right-hander held the Roughriders to a pair of runs in 6 2/3 innings of work to record just his second win of the year and first since April 18.
Trea Turner drove in three runs and five San Antonio batters recorded multi-hits. The Missions have collected 78 hits during the streak while scoring 50 runs. The team had managed only 44 runs in the 16 previous games.
Frisco didn't help itself by committing a season-high five errors that led to three unearned runs.
Coupled with Midland's loss earlier in the night, the Missions moved to within 2 1/2 games of the second place Rockhounds in the South Division.
