
Riders Swept in Double Dip by Travelers

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders were swept by the Arkansas Travelers in a pair of games on Thursday from Riders Field, losing 3-0 and 8-2.
In game one, the RoughRiders (53-38) came within two outs of being no-hit by Matt Brash (2-1), who threw a complete-game shutout, striking out 11 with two walks. The Travelers (49-43) won 3-0.
On offense, all three tallies came in the second innings off of Noah Bremer (3-2). Stephen Wrenn smacked a two-run triple and Patrick Frick laced an RBI groundout to make it 3-0.
In game two, the RoughRiders struck first when Bubba Thompson scored on an RBI groundout from Davis Wendzel in his return from the Injured List, putting Frisco in front 1-0.
Julio Rodriguez then reached on an error that allowed two runs to score in the third, vaulting the Travelers in front and they never looked back.
Arkansas went on to score two more in the fourth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh to take a 8-1 advantage.
The Riders found the scoreboard again in the bottom of the seventh when Jordan Procyshen knocked home an RBI single, but still trailed 8-2.
Devin Sweet (3-5) took the win throwing an inning in relief.
Tai Tiedemann (1-1) was handed the loss, allowing four unearned runs in his start.
The Riders and Travelers will meet on Friday, August 20th with game four of the series beginning at 7:05 p.m. RHP Ronny Henriquez (3-3, 5.40) will start for the RoughRiders against LHP Brandon Williamson (1-3, 4.57).
