Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are very pleased to announce that they have made history setting a new single season attendance record yesterday. 43,613 fans stuffed the park on Thanksgiving Monday, which gave the Riders a total regular season attendance of 264,136. Taylor Field averaged 29,438 fans per game this season which breaks the 1995 record of 28,490.
The Green and White used the temporary stands put in place for this year's Grey Cup to their advantage and had two crowds of over 40,000 fans. That is also a new record in the franchises' 93 year history.
"It never ceases to amaze me the support that this province shows to the Roughriders every year," stated Riders Director of Marketing and Corporate Sales Trent Fraser. "We'd like to thank every single fan and our hundreds of volunteers that came out to Taylor Field and helped make Roughrider history."
