Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS (May 29, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders will hold their Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, May 30, coinciding with the team's 7:05 p.m. game against the Tulsa Drillers at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Military RoughRiders Jersey T-shirt and the team will honor all branches of military and their families throughout the game.
The RoughRiders will offer $9 tickets (best available) for active service members and veterans who present valid military identification upon check-in at the stadium. Immediate family members of the servicemen and servicewomen are also eligible for the discounted tickets.
Additionally, the team will wear special digital camouflage jerseys, which fans will have a chance to take off the players' backs via a silent jersey auction. Fans interested in bidding on jerseys should stop by Section 106 before the end of the sixth inning. Post game, the winners will get to join the team on the field to meet the players, get their jersey, and have it autographed on the spot. All proceeds will go to the RoughRiders Foundation, who will then be donating 100% of those proceeds to our military charity partners.
Fans are invited to stay after the game for live music performed by Joey James and enjoy 1/2 priced beers and mixed drinks at the Bull Moose Saloon. James is a U.S. Navy Veteran and proud supporter of veterans by providing awareness and funding for their families.
On April 24, the RoughRiders were honored to help celebrate Major Todd Briggs' surprise return home to his kids on the field at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Major Briggs served in Kuwait for over nine months without seeing his family. He lives in Plano, Texas with his wife Kelley and his two sons Jacob (10) and Jayson (3). For video of the special moment, click here. Mayor Briggs and his family will be honored on the cover of Saturday's Official Game Program.
Fans are encouraged to join the conversation on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat with their comments and photos at the official hashtag #RidersSalute.
Great seats are still available for Military Appreciation Night. For tickets call (972) 731-9200, e-mail Info@RidersBaseball.com or visit www.RidersBaseball.com. Additional updates and promotional information is available via the RoughRiders' Facebook, Twitter and websites.
