Frisco RoughRiders News Release

Midland second baseman J.C. Holt brought home the winning run with an RBI single in the top of the ninth, as Midland rallied to beat Frisco, 6-5, on Tuesday night.

With the score tied 5-5 in the ninth, Holt laced a single between third base and shortstop, scoring Jeff Baisley from third with two outs. Midland trailed 5-2 in the 7th inning, but was able to rally for three late runs to tie the ballgame, giving Holt the opportunity to be a hero. Frisco had won the previous two meetings against the RockHounds, but Midland made sure that the 'Riders would not have the opportunity to go for the sweep on Wednesday.

Cody Eppley (1-1, 1.84) took the loss for Frisco, his first of the season. He allowed one run on two hits over two innings, walking two and striking out three.

Richard Bleier (3-5, 5.63) started for Frisco and went 6.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out five.

Frisco (36-26) and Midland (30-33) will play the finale of their four-game series at Dr Pepper Ballpark, with first pitch coming at 11:05 AM. Ryan Tatusko (5-0, 2.63) will be looking for his second win since joining the rotation.

Notes:

Matt Lawson, named a Texas League All-Star on Tuesday, hit a three-run home run in the third inning.
