St. John's IceCaps News Release


ROSTER MOVES: The IceCaps have had 12 roster shifts over the past seven days. Brett Lernout, Ryan Johnston and John Scott were all recalled to the Habs. Andrew Yogan and Shane Bakker were released from their PTO's. Ben Scrivens, Jacob de la Rose and Michael McCarron returned from MTL. Dalton Thrower was reassigned from Brampton while Daniel Audette, Jeremiah Addison and Simon Bourque were all added to the lineup from their respective junior teams.

HATS OFF TO FUCS: Goaltender Zach Fucale has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the St. John's community during the 2015-16 season BUD'S A STUD: Assistant Captain Bud Holloway sits sixth in AHL scoring, with 19G, 38A and 57P in 66 games this season.

The Toronto Marlies fired three powerplay goals en route to a win over the St. John's IceCaps Tuesday night at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, ON. Antoine Bibeau became the first goalie to keep the IceCaps off the scoresheet this season, stopping 21 St. John's shots. IceCaps netminder Eddie Pasquale kicked aside 30 of 34 Marlies drives. Defenceman Tom Parisi made his pro debut, wearing number five for St. John's.

The IceCaps were topped by the Phantoms Friday at Mile One Centre. Tim Bozon scored the lone goal for St.

John's and Zach Fucale stopped 28-of-31 shots in a solid showing, while Phantoms goaltender Martin Ouellette made 27 saves on 28 shots in a first star performance. Forward Cory Ward picked up his third assist in six games since joining the team on an ATO, while playing at Mile One for the first time. Defencemen Christopher Joyaux and Tom Parisi also made their home debuts.

Despite dominating the shot clock St. John's fell to Lehigh Valley Saturday at Mile One Centre. Phantoms goaltender Martin Ouellette was unbeatable on this night for his second straight first star performance, stopping all 31 shots he faced. The loss was the fourth straight for the IceCaps, who were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Friday after victories by Utica and Portland.
