The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:
-RHP Bailey Clark has been placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to June 1.
Clark has appeared in eight games with Myrtle Beach, making two starts. Over 27.2 innings, he has gone 1-2 with a 2.93 ERA, striking out 32 against 14 walks in 27.2 frames. The Asheville, N.C., native began the year with Low-A South Bend, where he whiffed 19 against three walks in five games over 14.1 innings. The right-hander posted a 1-0 record and 1.26 ERA. Clark was originally drafted by the Cubs in the fifth round of the 2016 draft out of Duke University. During his junior season at Duke in 2016, Clark helped lead the Blue Devils to their first NCAA postseason appearance since 1961 by averaging a team-high 9.7 strikeouts per game. Overall, he went 4-4 with a 5.61 ERA in 59.1 innings (64 K, 26 BB).
The Pelicans' roster sits at 24 active players, with five players on the disabled list.
