Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP Anthony Reyes has been activated to the team's roster. He is expected to start for the Herd tonight against the Durham Bulls (7:05 p.m.).
The Bisons also announced that C Armando Camacaro has been activated off the disabled list. RHP Jeff Harris has been transferred to Single-A Kinston while INF Jordan Brown has been placed on the temporary inactive list to return home for the birth of his first child.
With Reyes starting tonight, RHP Jeff Weaver is now scheduled to start on Wednesday in Durham.
Reyes, 26, was acquired by the Indians on Saturday in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals for RHP Luis Perdomo. Reyes has split the 2008 season between the St. Louis bullpen and Triple-A Memphis rotation. He was on the Cardinals' opening day roster and posted a mark of 2-1 with a save and a 4.91ERA in 10 relief outings (14.2IP, 16H, 8R, 8ER, 2HR, 3BB, 10K). Between his two stints in St. Louis, he has gone 2-3 with a 3.25ERA in 11 starts for Memphis (52.2IP, 51H, 19ER, 4HR, 21BB, 47K).
Reyes has pitched his entire pro career in the Cardinals organization after he was selected in the 15th round of the 2003 draft out of the University of California. He has appeared at the big league level over each of the last four seasons since 2005 with St. Louis and owns a career Major League ERA of 5.38 in 53 games (10-24 record, 38GS, 220.2IP, 214H, 132ER, 168K).
Camacaro has hit .077 (1-13) in five games with the Herd. He's been on the DL since June 27.
