Hens Going For 4th Winning Season
Published on July 29, 2008 under International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release
In the history of the International League, no team has ever won four straight divisional titles. In fact, only three teams have won three straight - Columbus (1990-92), Durham (1998-00) and Toledo (2005-07). During those steaks, Columbus won the Governors' Cup twice (1991, 92) and the Hens in 2005 and 2006. The Hens trail Louisville for the IL West lead by 3.0 games.
The last team to have made the post-season four consecutive seasons is Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 1999-2002.
Even if the Hens are not able to win the division and play respectable ball for the rest of the season, they have a chance to make it four straight seasons over .500 - their first time since 1941-44.
