JOPLIN, Missouri - LF Burt Reynolds and C Mike Miller each went deep, but the AirHogs dropped their 2nd straight contest in Joplin Saturday night. The home team used home runs of its own from LF Willie Cabrera and RF Jesus Solorzano to squeeze out a 5-4 win at Joe Becker Stadium.

RHP Cody Hebner got the ball to start for the AirHogs. In his 4th start of the year, the Auburn, WA native lasted 6 innings, surrendering 4 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits and 1 walk. He struck out 5.

The Blasters got to him in the 2nd with a leadoff double by Charlie Valerio. He advanced on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI groundout by Aaron Brill to make it 1-0.

With the Blasters leading 2-0 in the 5th, Cabrera took Hebner over the fence to extend the lead to 4. The 2-run shot was the 1st of the year for Cabrera.

Reynolds got the the AirHogs 2 back in the top of the 6th. After Juan Sanchez drew a 2-out walk, Reynolds blasted his 7th home run of the year off Joplin starter Josh Hodges. A Solorzano homer off Hebner in the 6th made the score 5-2, but Miller answered right back. He added a 2-run blast of his own in the 7th to make it 5-4. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Miller and his 2nd of the road trip.

With 2 outs in the 7th and WIll DuPont on 1st, CF MIchael Hur narrowly missed giving the AirHogs the lead. He sent a long fly to the wall in right that was reeled in by Solorzano to end the inning.

That was as close as the AirHogs would get. The relief combination of Victor Capellan and ex-big leaguer Winston Abreu held the visitors off the scoreboard in the 8th and 9th to seal the win.

Tyler Ihrig and Alan Oaks each tossed an inning in relief for the AirHogs. Sanchez reached 3 times for the 2nd time in the series.
