New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (10-4-7; 37 pts. - 3rd in East.) begin a two-game week on Wednesday night when Atlanta United FC (9-5-8; 35 pts. - 5th in East.) on Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium. The midweek match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Jake Zivin and Taylor Twellman will call the match in English, while Moises Linares and Jaime Macias will provide Spanish commentary. Wednesday's match can also be heard on the radio locally on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies on the call, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.

Entering the two-game home stretch, New England remains one of just two MLS teams without a loss at home, carrying a 7-0-3 record into Matchday 25. The Revolution's 10-game home-unbeaten streak in Foxborough is the longest to open a season in team history. A win on Wednesday would even the all-time series against the Five Stripes, which stands at 3-4-4. New England has earned points in its last five meetings with Atlanta (3-0-2), and owns a 2-1-2 record at home in the series. Atlanta will be led into Foxborough by Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada, a 2022 FIFA World CupTM winner and the league's current co-assists leader with 10 helpers, one more than Carles Gil's nine.

Gil, who earned his third consecutive MLS All-Star selection, is set to return to action after missing last weekend's 2-1 loss at the New York Red Bulls due to yellow card accumulation. The 2021 MLS MVP owns three goals and three assists in seven career appearances against Atlanta United, including a two-goal performance in the teams' 3-3 draw earlier this season on May 31. The Spanish midfielder is especially productive at home, with four goals and eight assists in nine games at Gillette Stadium this year.

Last weekend's match against the Red Bulls featured a goal from defender Brandon Bye, who netted his second tally of the season in the 76th minute. New England was playing down a man due to a red card issued to midfielder Latif Blessing, who will miss Wednesday's action as he serves the one-game suspension. Forward Gustavo Bou, who is approaching the four-year anniversary of his MLS debut on July 17, distributed his third assist of the season and has now reached the scoresheet in three of his last four appearances. Bou's next goal will lift the 2021 MLS Best XI forward into a tie with Steve Ralston (42) for the fifth most goals scored in franchise history.

Saturday's match also featured midfielder Ian Harkes' Revolution debut as the Revolution's first summer signing posted a 22-minute appearance, his first in MLS since 2018. Homegrown Player Esmir Bajraktarevic, 18, collected his fifth start of the season. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrović, also a 2023 MLS All-Star selection, tallied five saves in Saturday's defeat. The Serbian international has registered a result in 17 of 19 career games played at Gillette Stadium, with a 10-2-7 home record. Petrović is 1-0-1 over two appearances against Atlanta United. A win on Wednesday would see him become the fourth MLS goalkeeper with double-digit wins in 2023.
