Atlanta United FC News Release
ATLANTA - Atlanta United returns to action Wednesday when it travels to face New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. The match is set to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass, while fans can also tune-in to radio calls on 92.9 The Game and La Mejor.
MLS Season Pass features every match of the regular season and Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with consistent match times and no blackouts. The service also features MLS Countdown, the live pre-game show before every match, live halftime reports, MLS 360 -- a fast-moving whip-around show that will provide live look-ins and analysis from all the key moments from every match, and MLS Wrap-up, the live post-game show. All matches feature commentary in English or Spanish, while matches involving Canadian teams will also have French commentary. Fans in the U.S. and Canada also have the option to select their home team's radio for broadcast audio on the Apple TV app where available.
Atlanta holds a 4-3-4 all-time record against New England in MLS regular season play: 3-1-2 at home and 1-2-2 on the road. This will be the second meeting between the teams in 2023 as the teams split the points in a dramatic 3-3 draw at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on May 31.
Atlanta is coming off consecutive clean sheet wins against Philadelphia and Montreal and held each opponent to a single shot on target. The team will be looking to keep its third straight shutout in MLS for the first time since a five-game run in 2019.
Wednesday's match will feature two of the top-five chance creators in MLS in Thiago Almada and Carles Gil. Almada ranks second with 57 chances created while New England's playmaker is tied for fourth with 52.
Almada has recorded the second-most goal contributions (eight goals, 10 assists) in the league, trailing only Nashville's Hany Mukhtar with 21.
Brooks Lennon scored the decisive goal in Atlanta's victory on Saturday, his third goal and 10th goal contribution of the season. That matches his highest goal total in a single season (2017, Real Salt Lake) and is the most goal contributions he has had in a single season in his career.
New England heads into Matchday 23 in third place in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of Atlanta, and coming off a 2-1 loss on the road against New York Red Bulls on Saturday. The loss snapped a seven-game unbeaten streak for the Revolution, the team's second unbeaten run of at least seven matches this season. New England is one of two teams (FC Cincinnati) yet to lose a home match this year, as the Revolution hold a 7-0-3 record at Gillette Stadium.
