New England Revolution News Release

CHESTER, Penn. - The New England Revolution (7-2-3; 24 pts.; 2nd in East) will close a three-game road swing with a visit to the Philadelphia Union (5-4-3; 18 pts.; 6th in East) on Saturday night at Subaru Park. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and is available to watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish. The match can also be heard on the radio locally on 98.5 The Sports, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese. Start every Saturday with "The Soccer Show" on 98.5 The Sports Hub, hosted by DJ Bean, at 6:00 a.m. ET and available on demand.

New England enters this weekend's match looking to bounce back into the win column following a 2-1 loss at Inter Miami CF in Fort Lauderdale last Saturday. The defeat snapped an eight-match unbeaten streak for the Revolution and marked just the second loss for New England through 12 games this season. Midfielder Carles Gil accounted for the Revolution's lone goal of the match, tallying his third goal of the season with assists from midfielder Matt Polster and defender DeJuan Jones. Gil's three tallies are now tied with forwards Bobby Wood and Giacomo Vrioni for the team lead. The Spanish playmaker's next goal will be his 25th in MLS regular season play to go with his 52 career assists, second most in club history.

With his assist against Miami, Jones has now reached the scoresheet in the Revolution's last two matches with one goal and one assist. The outside back's three assists this season rank tied for third among all MLS defenders. Homegrown Player Noel Buck, who has appeared in every match this regular season, has played the full 90 minutes in each of the last four games in New England's midfield. Fellow Homegrown midfielder Esmir Bajraktarevic has appeared in five consecutive matches, starting twice, while veteran winger Emmanuel Boateng has earned four consecutive starts for the first time in his three-year tenure with New England.

With contributions across the roster, the Revolution's attack features 10 different goal scorers and ranks among the league's top offenses in goals scored (6th) and shots on target (3rd). New England also leads MLS in accurate shot percentage, putting shots on frame at a 42-percent clip. Defensively, New England's 11 goals conceded are tied for fifth fewest in MLS.

The Revolution and Philadelphia have played to an even 2-2-1 record in their last five encounters. The Revolution's defense will be challenged limiting the Union's top two playmakers, forward Mikael Uhre and midfielder Dániel Gazdag. Uhre has netted a team-high five goals this season, while Gazdag has tallied a team-best seven assists. New England will look to test Philadelphia goalkeeper Andre Blake, who won the 2022 Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award winner, finishing just ahead of the Revolution's Djordje Petrović in the voting. The two teams' managers, Bruce Arena and Philadelphia's Jim Curtin, own four and two MLS Coach of the Year Awards, respectively.
