The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will host the LA Galaxy at BMO Stadium on Tuesday, May 23 at 7 p.m. PT in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff for the match is set for 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on the CBS Sports Golazo network.

LAFC won their way into the round of 16 in dramatic fashion, defeating Monterey Bay FC 2-2 (5-4) on penalties on the road in the Round of 32 on Tuesday night.

The U.S. Open Cup is the oldest national soccer tournament in the United States. The single elimination tournament features professional, semi-professional, and amateur teams competing for the prestigious U.S. Open Cup title and an automatic berth in next year's Concacaf Champions League tournament.

This is the fourth time LAFC will compete in the U.S. Open Cup competition and the second consecutive year the two L.A.-based teams will meet in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16. LAFC's best performance in the tournament came in 2018 when they advanced into the semifinal round.
