Momentum After Miami Win - Head Coach Gary Smith said he was delighted with the Nashville SC victory on Wednesday that saw his team outshoot Inter Miami CF 15-10 and produce two more shots on target than their opponents.
"I thought it was a confident and comprehensive display," Smith said. "Miami has been in very good form. From minute one, we imposed ourselves on the game and were able to make that breakthrough in a period in that first half that we dominated. The biggest question was could we break down the Miami group to a greater degree and give ourselves a bigger lead. The second half, there were far more chances and opportunities. In the end, a really good victory."
MacNaughton Making An Impact - Defender Lukas MacNaughton has made an immediate difference since coming over in a trade from Toronto FC.
On Wednesday, he scored his first MLS goal in just his fourth start across all competitions with the club. MacNaughton said his teammates have made his transition seamless.
"These guys make it easy," he said. "The atmosphere is great, good players and good people overall. When you come in, it's just very easy. You can be yourself and just focus on playing."
Scouting Charlotte FC - This will be the second-ever meeting between Nashville and Charlotte. Last July, Charlotte FC handed Nashville SC a 4-1 defeat at Bank of America Stadium. Smith says there are lessons to be learned from that loss.
"Charlotte is in a great run," Smith said. "They've put themselves in a fantastic spot. When we played there last year, it was a very difficult environment. They took care of business on the day. We learned an awful lot from that result. One thing we do know is it won't be easy. We'll be ready for whatever they throw at us on Saturday."
