New England Revolution News Release

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The New England Revolution (13-5-8, 47 pts; . - 2nd in East.) travel to the Midwest to face Minnesota United FC (9-8-9, 36 pts; - 7th in West.) at Allianz Field on Saturday night. The match kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish. Saturday's contest also airs locally on the radio via 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies on the call, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.

After earning four points from last week's homestand, New England carries a 3-5-4 away record into the three-game road swing with visits to Minnesota, Colorado, and then Chicago. The Revolution will play at Allianz Field for the first time looking to improve on a 3-1-0 record against the Loons. The teams last met on June 19, 2022, a 2-1 victory for New England. In the only previous visit to Minnesota, the Revolution fell by a 2-1 scoreline at the Loons' former home, TCF Bank Stadium.

The Loons, guided by head coach Adrian Heath, are unbeaten in their last six matches (3-0-3). South African striker Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Argentinian midfielder Emanuel Reynoso lead Minnesota's attack with six goals each, while Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair has totaled eight clean sheets this season. With Minnesota's Reynoso (1st - 4.07) and New England's Carles Gil (2nd - 3.41) in the midfield, Saturday's match features the top-two players in MLS in chances created per 90 minutes played, among all players with at least 20 assists. Overall, Gil's 12 assists rank third in MLS while his 72 chances created are tied for third best.

The Revolution remain in second place in the Eastern Conference after battling Austin FC to a 2-2 draw at Gillette Stadium on Matchday 30, the first of three consecutive matches against Western Conference opponents. New England's attack was carried by forward Tomás Chancalay, who recorded a two-goal performance in only his second start with the Revolution. The 24-year-old Argentinian attacker, who earned his first MLS Team of the Matchday selection, became the first Revolution player to record a multi-goal game within his first three appearances for the club since Carles Gil in 2019. Gil's younger brother, Nacho Gil, registered his first MLS assist on Chancalay's second goal.

New England, 3-1-1 in the last five league games, remain locked in a close playoff battle in the Eastern Conference. With eight games remaining, the team's rate of 1.81 points per game is second best in MLS behind league leaders FC Cincinnati. The Revolution attack ranks among the league's top-five clubs in goals scored (5th - 45) and goal difference (T-4th - 14). Although New England sits comfortably clear of the playoff line, the playoff pack is tightening as only a five-point margin separates second from sixth place in the east.
