New England Revolution News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The New England Revolution embark on their final road trip of 2025, visiting Inter Miami CF on Saturday night. The 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Chase Stadium airs on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish. Listen to Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies call the match on 98.5 The Sports Hub (WBZ-FM) or tune into 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA for Portuguese commentary. Additionally, the Revolution will be hosting a free, public watch party at the historic Old North Church in Boston's North End for Saturday's final away match of the season.
New England enters its penultimate regular season contest on the back of a 2-0 victory at home over Atlanta United FC last weekend. Israeli forward and U22 signing Dor Turgeman made his MLS debut in the second half, sparking the Revs with a goal-and-assist performance to earn MLS Team of the Matchday honors. Turgeman tallied the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, and helped set up Leo Campana's strike three minutes later. Turgeman is the ninth Revolution player to score in his MLS debut, and the 23rd player in league annals with a goal and an assist in their first regular season appearance.
Campana made his return to action after three matches out with a quad injury, logging a 25-minute shift and scoring his seventh goal of the season. The Ecuador international prepares to face his former club for the second time after being traded to New England last winter. In three seasons for The Herons, Campana recorded 32 goals and eight assists across 100 total appearances. The striker helped Inter Miami claim the Leagues Cup 2023 and 2024 MLS Supporters' Shield titles.
Carles Gil picked up his team-leading 12th assist of the season on Turgeman's opening goal, extending his club record with his 28th career game-winning assist. The captain's 85 regular season assists are now tied for the most among active MLS players (Maxi Moralez). In eight previous appearances against Inter Miami, Gil owns four goals and six assists, including three game-winning helpers. Gil was joined in the midfield by Matt Polster in his second game back from a knee injury, and 18-year-old Uganda international Allan Oyirwoth making his fourth straight appearance since his MLS debut.
Oyirwoth (Uganda) is one of six Revolution players thus far departing the club following Saturday's match for international duty along with Turgeman (Israel), Matt Turner (United States), Alhassan Yusuf (Nigeria), and homegrown products Eric Klein and Peyton Miller (United States U-20). Miller remains away from the team as he represents the United States at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, where he has appeared in both of the team's wins to date, including a start in the 3-0 victory over France. Klein earns his first national team call-up at any level for an international training camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
On the back end, Matt Turner made four saves last Saturday to earn his second clean sheet of the campaign. The shutout was New England's 10th of the season, tied for second most in club annals and marking the fifth time the Revs have recorded double-digit clean sheets in a season (last, 14 in 2013). The victory was his 46th in MLS play, tying Bobby Shuttleworth for second in team history, and 50th for New England in all competitions. Turner was credited with a secondary assist on Campana's goal, the second of his MLS career and seventh goalkeeper assist in club history.
In front of Turner, Malian center back Mamadou Fofana was back in the lineup last week after serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation. Fofana, who has started all 10 of New England's shutouts this season, anchored the backline between Tanner Beason and Brayan Ceballos. On the flanks, veteran Brandon Bye made his second straight start at right back, with Will Sands slotting in on the left side for Miller.
Inter Miami is headlined by reigning MLS MVP Lionel Messi, who leads the league with 24 goals along with 14 assists. Midfielder Sergio Busquets, in the final season of his career, owns nine helpers, fourth most on the team behind Messi, Jordi Alba (12), and Luis Suarez (10). New England and Inter Miami faced off in Foxborough back on July 9, with Messi tallying twice in the first half as the visitors held on for a 2-1 victory. The Herons fell at home on Tuesday to Chicago Fire FC, 5-3. In a back-and-forth affair, Inter Miami fought back from a two-goal deficit with a second-half brace by Luis Suarez. But the visitors used a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory.
