Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Dynamo & Dash Charities, the official 501(c)(3) non-profit arm of HDFC, hosted its fourth annual Boots & Suits Gala in recording-setting style on Wednesday night. Generous supporters of the organization showed up in spades, with more than 250 attendees raising a record-breaking total in support of the important work that Dynamo & Dash Charities brings to the City of Houston every single day.
In addition to the record-setting proceeds generated through the silent auction and donations, Dynamo & Dash Charities awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to five local non-profit organizations during the event, aligning with the organization's five community pillars - Youth Development, Food Insecurity, Military Support, Cancer Support & Awareness and Energy Sustainability.
The grant winners included:
Midas Football Academy - offers football training to the youth players while also providing mentorship, life skills education and community engagement.
Magnificat House - provides over 58,000 meals annually to some of Houston's most vulnerable communities.
Grace After Fire - helps transition female veterans and their families back to civilian life through the STARS program.
SurviveHER - provides full support to those fighting breast cancer, including essential exams, education and more.
Trees for Houston - grows, plants and maintains thousands of trees annually, contributing to community-wide reforestation efforts in underserved communities.
The remaining funds raised will support the work that Dynamo & Dash Charities puts into the community throughout the year, including the Futbolito in the City Program, powered by Shell Energy, Holiday Food Distribution, Rebuilding Together veteran home refurbishment, and more.
The Club's premier fundraising event offered guests a unique opportunity to join members of the HDFC family for a special evening celebrating the outstanding on-field and off-field accomplishments of its players, coaches, and community partners who make a lasting impact across the City of Houston. Notably, Dash goalkeeper Abby Smith and Dynamo defender Griffin Dorsey were each awarded their team's respective Humanitarian of the Year Awards.
Dressed to the nines, players and guests enjoyed a fun evening of dinner, player awards and a silent auction with exclusive items, autographed memorabilia and one-of-kind experiences.
Dynamo & Dash Charities believes in using the sport of soccer to support communities in the greater Houston area. The organization is committed to leveraging the passion of its players, staff and fans to provide resources and education that positively impact lives in our community.
