New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution has placed midfielder Andy Dorman on the team's disabled list after he suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee on Saturday, July 12, in the team's match against the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium.
Dorman will miss a minimum of six league matches while on the disabled list. The first match for which he is able to return is the team's August 23 match against Chivas USA, although he is expected to miss at least 10-12 weeks with the injury.
Additionally, the Revs have loaned midfielder/defender Donnie Smith to the Rochester Rhinos, the team's USL PRO affiliate. Smith will spend the week in Rochester and be available for the Rhinos' match against Wilmington Hammerheads FC on Saturday, July 19. Smith will return to the Revs on Sunday, July 20.
In his previous short-term loans to Rochester, Smith made four appearances with the Rhinos. Smith is in his second year with the Revs after the club drafted him in the second round (21st overall) in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft out of the UNC-Charlotte. Smith has two career MLS appearances - both starts - with the last coming on March 15, 2014, at Philadelphia. Smith joins three other Revs players already on long-term loan in Rochester: defender Jossimar Sanchez, goalkeeper Luis Soffner and midfielder Alec Sundly.
