Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, July 15, 2014) - Chivas USA midfielder Martin Rivero and defender Bobby Burling underwent successful procedures. Rivero injured his right ACL during the club's 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on June 28, while Burling suffered a medial meniscus tear in the Red-and-White's 1-0 triumph over the Montreal Impact on July 5. According to the post-surgical report, Rivero will be away from the soccer fields for six to eight months and will be added to the League's disabled list, while Burling will be out of action for an estimated three to four weeks.
The Red-and-White head back out on the road this weekend looking to extend their winning streak to five games when they face Eastern Conference side D.C. United on Sunday at RFK Stadium. The match will mark the only meeting between the clubs this season and will be broadcast live nationally on Univision Deportes Network and locally on KDOC-TV LA-56 beginning at 5 p.m. (PT).
