October 24, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria Rivermen Director of Client Services Tyler Rennette will appear on WMBD This Morning on Friday, October 26 at 6:40 am to discuss his new Hockey 'N' Heels program as well as the team's Halloween festivities taking place this Saturday night.
The Rivermen will host the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday night at 7 pm, with the first-ever installment of Hockey 'N' Heels getting under way at approximately 5:30 pm. Rennette will host the program, which is free with game ticket purchase but attendees must RSVP to the office by calling (309) 680-3561 to secure a spot. Female Peoria Youth Hockey Association players will help Rennette explain and demonstrate the rules in an on-ice clinic situation before the game. He will also field any questions about the team or the game during the program as well to help inform and educate those in attendance.
"It's going to be a great program," said Rennette. "We're hoping to get as many women involved as possible, regardless of age. There's no reason why they shouldn't learn as much as possible about the game and do it in a setting they feel comfortable with."
It's also time to celebrate HALLOWEEN! Kids and adults should dress in costume for the game, with kids having a chance to win prizes in a costume contest. Plus, there will be FREE CANDY to all kids in costume at the game as well.
In addition, it will be Schauble Team Night with free koozies passed out during the game to fans in attendance! And last but certainly not least, the world-renown Red Panda Acrobat will be at the game Saturday night demonstrating feats of amazing skill for your entertainment! Don't miss this one-of-a-kind show!
The Rivermen are at home this weekend as they host the Iowa Stars on Friday night and the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday! Both games begin at 7 pm, with Saturday night featuring a visit from Red Panda Acrobat, the kickoff event for Hockey N' Heels, Schauble Team Night with FREE KOOZIES, Trick-Or-Treat Night and Costume Contest for kids, and even a costume contest for adults! Tickets are on sale now through the Peoria Civic Center Box Office, online at www.TicketMaster.com, all TicketMaster locations, or charge by phone at (309) 676-8700.
