Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
O'Fallon, MO - Righty Mike Renery's last start came on July 29th against the Florence Freedom. He exited after an inning and two-thirds in that game. He aced River City Friday night in place of Josh Glynn as the Bolts took the first of 3 8-2.
Rnery sailed through 8 innings surrendered just a lone earned run as the Rascals scratched out just 4 hits against him. Windy City steadily poured runs across with a score in each frame between the 2nd and 6th. Justin Schuda socked his 3rd homer in 2 days, a solo shot in the 5th inning. Windy City plated other runs on an error, a wild pitch, and a bases-loaded walk, among other things.
Mike Lynch scored a season-high 2 runs and Doug Schutt added to his league-high stolen base number with a pair. He's reached 36 for the season. Schutt, Clemente Bonilla, Donnie Poles and Scott Vetter each recorded multi-hit games.
Chris Hayes sealed the ball game for Renery with a shutout 9th, his 15th inning and two-thirds in a row of untouched baseball in the run column. Renery's 9 strikeouts was a season best. The Bolts have now evened the series with the Rascals at 5 apiece. Windy City has snared 4 of 5.
Tomorrow's game comes your way via sportsjuice.com at 7:00. The first pitch from Rascals lefty Brian Keating appears at 7:05.
