Gateway Grizzlies News Release
The Gateway Grizzlies (39-40) banged out a franchise record 21 hits Monday night en route to a 15-8 win over the Mid-Missouri Mavericks (25-52).
The win pushed the Grizzlies closer to the .500 mark (one game under) than they have been since being 0-1. The Grizzlies are now two games back of the Kalamazoo Kings who lost to Rockford tonight. Rockford remains one ahead of Kalamazoo and three ahead of the Grizzlies for first in the West.

Scott Nicholson (1-1) picked up the win for the Grizzlies. Nicholson went seven innings allowing just three runs on eight hits.
The Grizzlies and Mavericks will play game two of the series Tuesday night at GMC Stadium. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
