Renegades Sure Like Playing at Jersey Shore

The Hudson Valley Renegades used home runs by Elijah Dunham and James Nelson to top the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, 4-1, in the first of six in Lakewood, NJ on Tuesday night.

Dunham led off the fifth inning with his second home run of the year and Nelson followed with his fourth just a few pitches later. Hudson Valley increased the lead to 3-0 in the sixth on a single by Josh Breaux following a double by Ezequiel Duran.

The Claws got a run back in the seventh on a Jhailyn Ortiz home run -- his third against the Renegades.

A Brandon Lockridge double in the eighth brought home Josh Smith to rebuild the three-run lead for the Gades.

On the mound, Shawn Semple pitched six innings of two-hit, no-run ball to earn the win (2-0). Matt Minnick followed for two innings before Elvis Peguero pitched the ninth to pick up his first save of the year. Ethan Lindow (0-3) took the loss for Jersey Shore.

The series continues tomorrow night.
