TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The third of 10 meetings and the second of five here. Richmond is 2-0 vs. the Express. This is the third meeting in nine days between these clubs. Brad Church has five points vs. the Express. Jason Jaffray has three vs. the ‘Gades. Richmond has four power play goals in two games vs. Roanoke. Richmond is back in first place in the Northeast Division with 24 points (tied for second best in the league). The ‘Gades are one point ahead of Atlantic City and eight up on Roanoke. The Express has 16 points and is in sixth place in the Northeast, three behind Greensboro.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Gades won 9-4 vs. Augusta here last night. The ‘Gades blew the game open with a six goal second period and scored eight straight goals. Jonathan St. Louis scored twice. Eight different ‘Gades scored goals and 15 of the 16 skaters had at least one point. Dan Vandermeer scored the game-winner shorthanded. Roanoke lost 6-5 at Trenton last night.

The Express trailed 5-2 in the third period but battled back to tie the game before Trenton scored the game-winner with under four minutes to play. Roanoke out-shot Trenton 46-27, including 24-3 in the third period.

‘GADES NOTES: Brad Church is the ECHL Player of the Week for 11/18. Dan Lombard was runner up for Goalie of the Week. Richmond has won six straight and 11 of their last 13 games. The ‘Gades have also won six straight at home. Richmond has scored 24 goals in their last three home games. The ‘Gades nine goals last night is the most scored by Richmond in a game since a nine goal uprising against Greesnboro on January 13, 2001. Richmond has nine power play goals in their last three games. Over the course of the five game winning streak Richmond is 13-49 on the power play (26.5%), 34-39 on the penalty kill (87.2%), and the ‘Gades have scored three shorthanded goals. The ‘Gades are 5-0 in overtime/shootouts. Lars Pettersen has points in seven straight games. Brad Church, Jaime Herrington, and Richard Pitirri have points in four straight games. Jon Zion has points in three straight. Marc Magliarditi now has 118 career wins and is sixth in ECHL history. The ‘Gades are in a stretch of 10 of 12 games at home. Seven players on the 'Gades roster were not in the opening night lineup. The ‘Gades have nine former NHL draft picks on the club. Richmond has eight rookies on the club. Milt Mastad was placed on 7-Day IR 11/13 with a hand injury. Dan Lombard is fourth in the ECHL in goals against average.

EXPRESS NOTES: The Express has lost four straight and is winless in their last five games. Roanoke is allowing an average of five goals per game during that streak. Ex-‘Gade Dylan Gyori returned from a call-up to Hershey of the AHL last night. Gyori is tied for the ECHL lead in assists and is fourth in scoring. Jason Jaffray is tied for sixth in points and is the league's leading rookie scorer.
