
Grrrowl Provide Fantastic Finish

Greenville, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl scored two goals in the final 5:29 of the third period, and beat the Augusta Lynx 2-1 in front of 4,340 at the BI-LO Center Saturday night. The game-winning goal was scored by MARTIN MASA with no time left on the clock in regulation. The win snapped Greenville's losing streak at five games.
The Lynx outshot the Grrrowl 19-6 in the first period, and opened a 1-0 lead on a late first period goal by Josh St. Louis. There was no scoring in the second period. TYLER DEIS beat Augusta goaltender Colin Zulianello with a wrist shot from the slot to tie the game at one with 5:29 remaining in the third period. Then, Deis sent a pass out of the corner to MARTIN MASA who scored his 4th goal of the season with no time remaining to give Greenville the 2-1 win. The Grrrowl improved to 7-8-2 as the quarter-mark of the 72 game schedule approaches next week. vGame 4 of this 5-game homestand is scheduled for Wednesday (7:05 PM, Newsradio 1330 & 950 WORD) as the South Carolina Stingrays travel to the BI-LO Center.
