Chiefs Fall Again to Peoria

Johnstown, PA- Peoria Rivermen forward Trevor Baker had two goals and an assist to lead them 6-3 win over the Johnstown Chiefs Saturday night at the War Memorial Arena.

The Chiefs were down 4-1 in the third period before they rallied back to close the gap 4-3 with goals by Sam St. Pierre and Jim Leger. Then Peoria exploded with goals by Kevin Granato and Brendan Brooks 0:54 apart. Tyler Rennette also scored for the Rivermen. Leger also had a second period goal for the Chiefs. All three Johnstown goals came on the power play.

Duane Derksen (5-4-1) picked up his second win in as many nights making 28 saves, while Johnstown goaltender Peter Aubry (3-4-0) suffered the loss making 17 saves.

The Rivermen improve to 10-4-2 on the season, while the Chiefs fall to 7-10-1.

Tomorrow night the Chiefs will travel to Dayton to face the Bombers at 7:30 p.m. The Chiefs will face the Wheeling Nailers in a home and home series beginning Thanksgiving night at Wheeling (7:00 p.m.). Friday the Chiefs return home when they take on the Nailers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night the Greensboro Generals make their first of two appearances this season at the War Memorial. Face-off is at 7:30 p.m.
