Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
WILMINGTON, DE - Jake Alu hit a 1-1 pitch from Charlie Ruegger over the right field fence to give the Wilmington Blue Rocks a 4-3 win on Sunday afternoon at Frawley Stadium.
It's the first series this season that Gades haven't either split or got the better of. Due to Friday's rainout, the series was shortened to five games. Friday's rainout will be made up when the Renegades return to Wilmington in July.
The game was tied at three after two innings. Wilmington struck for three in the first, while the Gades tied the game on a three-run Kyle MacDonald home run in the second.
Hayden Wesneski went five innings and struck out six. Matt Minnick and Elvis Peguero kept the Rocks off the scoreboard until the home run allowed by Ruegger (1-3). Francys Peguero went two innings for Wilmington to pick up the win.
MacDonald and James Nelson led the Renegades with two hits each.
The Gades sit at 15-13, in second place in High-A East North, four games behind Aberdeen. Hudson Valley travels up the New Jersey Turnpike to visit Brooklyn beginning on Tuesday night.
The Renegades return to Dutchess Stadium on June 15 for a seven-game set with Jersey Shore, including a doubleheader on Fri, June 18.
