BlueClaws Hit Five Homers to Power Past Brooklyn 11-6

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - The BlueClaws tied a franchise record with five home runs in their 11-6 win over Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Park to take four of six in their series from the Cyclones.

The BlueClaws (13-16) won four of the last five after dropping the opener on Tuesday to Brooklyn (9-18), the Mets affiliate.

Brooklyn scored three ties in the first inning for the second straight day, but the BluEClaws responded. Vito Friscia's RBI single in the second made it 3-1 before the home run barrage began.

Jose Tortolero (first), Logan O'Hoppe (4th), and Jhailyn Ortiz (5th) all homered in the third to give the BlueClaws a 4-3 lead. Then Hunter Hearn smashed one into the outfield picnic area in left-center to put the BlueClaws up 6-3.

The BlueClaws added two runs in the sixth on RBI hits from O'Hoppe and Cole Stobbe and got a bases loaded walk in the seventh before Fassnacht's home run in the eighth.

Nick Lackney (1-0) earned the win in relief, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings as one of six BlueClaws pitchers on the day. Josh Hendrickson threw two scoreless innings and Manuel Silva tossed a scoreless ninth for Jersey Shore.
