Reign Lose to Thunder, 7-2, in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL ‚¬â„¢s Los Angeles Kings, lost 7-2 to the Stockton Thunder before 5,395 at Stockton Arena Friday night.

The Reign's Shawn Collymore led off the scoring, as he broke through the Thunder defense while four-on-four and beat Bryan Pitton for his ninth goal of the season. The Thunder took a 3-1 lead before Jordan Morrison tallied his tenth goal of the season with a one-timer over Pitton's glove to make it 3-2.

That was as close as the Reign would get, as Stockton scored four goals in the third period to beat the Reign by a final score of 7-2.

Beau Erickson made 25 saves in his first loss in five games. Pitton made 21 saves in the win.

REIGN DROPS

The Reign wraps up its road trip to Stockton Saturday before returning home to Ontario Sunday the 23rd to play the Thunder on home ice. Sunday's 5 p.m. (with doors opening at 3:30 pm) game against Stockton is Red Cross Jersey Night, sponsored by the American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapter. Reign players will be wearing special edition Red Cross jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game against Stockton. Auction proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapter.
