Ontario Reign News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (26-7-2-3), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, couldn't get past the Bakersfield Condors (16-17-1-2) on Sunday evening at Rabobank Arena when they fell 3-2.

Three minutes into the game, the Reign were down by a goal as the Condors' Joel Broda net the first goal of the game which beat Jussi Olkinuora glove-side. Mario Lamoureux wristed a perfect feed from Chad Costello past Laurent Brossoit to tie the game at 14:35. The goal extended Lamoureux's point streak to eight games. Jake Newton also earned an assist on the goal. Chase Schaber caught Olkinuora off guard with a fake and backhanded his shot top shelf at 16:25 to reestablish a lead over the Reign.

While the Reign were killing a penalty, Jordan Knackstead fired a long shot past the outstretched pad of Olkinuora to put the Condors up 3-1 in the second period.

Jake Newton made his way through the slot and wristed a quick shot past Brossoit to cut the Reign's deficit to just one goal at the 9:37 mark of the third period. Costello picked up his second assist of the night on the play.

Brossoit got the win with 31 saves; Olkinuora was dealt a loss with 13 saves.
