Anchorage, Ala. - The Alaska Aces won 6-0 over the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight, shutting out the team for the three-game series sweep.
The first period was held scoreless by Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton and Aces goalie Olivier Roy until the 17:45 mark, when Aces right wing Peter Sivak put the home team on the board. Alaska dominated the second period with four goals, with the first two coming from defenseman Zach Davies six minutes apart. Aces center Matthew Sisca recorded his 11th goal of the season at 11:01, and center Nick Mazzolini scored with 54 seconds left in the period, leaving Alaska up 5-0.
With Wranglers goalie Mitch O'Keefe in net, Aces forward Eli Zuck tallied the team's sixth goal of the night 2:55 into the third period. The 6-0 score stood for the rest of the game, leaving Alaska with the win.
The Wranglers face the Utah Grizzlies on the road Wednesday before returning home for a 10-game stretch. The team takes on the Ontario Reign for two games starting Friday, Jan. 31, at 7:05 p.m.
