Reign Fall to Falcons, 1-0

FRESNO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliates of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, fell to the Fresno Falcons, 1-0, Saturday evening, before an announced crowd of 3,177 fans at Selland Arena in Fresno. Reign netminder John Murray stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced between the pipes in the match.

Saturday's game marked the second match-up between the Pacific Division opponents in two consecutive days, with the Reign (7-6-1-1, 16 points) continuing to hold a solid second place in the division and the Falcons (10-4-1, 21 points) picking up two points in the match to remain in first.

Fresno netted the only goal of the game in the second period, after the Reign blanked the Falcons in the first 26 minutes of the stanza. Falcons' defenseman Kyle Hagel lit the lamp at 6:53 in the second for the Falcons lone goal on the night. Reign goaltender John Murray stopped 13 of 14 shots he faced in the period to help hold the Falcons at one. The Reign defense held strong throughout the remainder of the match, not allowing the Falcons to find the net in the final 33 minutes of play, but the club was unable to make a comeback to force the game into overtime, with the match ending with a final score Reign, 0 , Falcons, 1.

Notes: - John Murray's 29 saves on the night marks his third highest saves and highest save percentage (.967) in the 2008-09 season

REIGN DROPS: The Reign head to Stockton on Wednesday, November 26 to take on Thunder before heading back to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday, November 28 to match-up with the Bakersfield Condors.
