
Reign Deal Wranglers A Loss In Shutout Win

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, took home the victory and their second shutout win of the season as they defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers, 1-0, in front of 5,101 fans at Orleans Arena. Reign left wing Chris Curran netted the game-winning goal, and goaltender Jeff Zatkoff blocked all 35 shots he faced in the game to improve to improve the Reign's record on the road to 7-4-0-1.
The Reign (14-9-1-1, 30 points) and the Wranglers (10-12-0-2, 22 points) faced off for the fourth time in the 08-09 season and the third at Orleans Arena, as the Reign gained two points in the Pacific Division standings with the win.
The clubs held each other scoreless as they headed into the second period, until Reign left wing Chris Curran scored his first professional goal just after one minute into the second. Curran shot the puck past Wranglers goaltender John DeCaro off an assist from right wing Geoff Walker to put the Reign ahead by one. Walker picked up his 11th goal of the year on the play, and Curran extended his point streak to 3-games (1g, 2a) with the goal.
The Reign held off the Wrangler's attack for the remaining minutes of the game, with Zatkoff defending the pipes flawlessly, to take home the win over the Wranglers with a final score, 1-0.

The Reign take on the Las Vegas Wranglers again on Friday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orleans Arena before heading home to Citizens Business Bank Arena to take on the Phoenix Roadrunners on December 20, and the Stockton Thunder on December 21. Both home games begin at 7 p.m.
